Old Town Plaza is getting shade, public art and new paths

Construction is underway on 0.72 acres at Dysart Road and Western Avenue. The city says the December 2026 finish will add illuminated artwork, history panels, shade trees, landscaping, pedestrian paths and a time capsule for Avondale's 100th anniversary.

Angie's plans a Casa Grande location

Angie's confirmed a planned location at Florence Boulevard and Henness Road as part of a nine-store Arizona expansion. The company told What Now Phoenix that it hoped to open the remaining locations by the end of 2026, but no exact Casa Grande opening date has been announced.

Casa Grande's official calendar lists the Fly-In Breakfast for Saturday, Aug. 29 at Casa Grande Municipal Airport. The city describes a morning of breakfast, aircraft and time with local aviators, and notes that Bagel House is now operating at the airport Friday through Tuesday from 7 to 11 a.m.

Taste of Cave Creek runs two nights in October

The town's own event page has Taste of Cave Creek down for Oct. 14 and 15, 5 to 9 p.m. both nights. It is the first thing on Cave Creek's fall calendar, and the town lists Hidden in the Hills, the artist studio tour, right behind it on Nov. 20 to 22 and Nov. 27 to 29. The town's tourism office is at 6528 E. Cave Creek Road if you want the full calendar.

Johnny Rockets picked Chandler for its first Southeast Valley spot

Chandler Fashion Center's food court has a new tenant. Johnny Rockets, the burgers-fries-and-hand-crafted-shakes chain, celebrated its grand opening Aug. 8 and 9, and the mall says it is the first Southeast Valley location. Garage, which sells everyday and active staples for women, opened the same Saturday, Aug. 8.

Allsup's is planned for 287 and Attaway Road

Coolidge clears site for a 100 to 150-job plant

Coolidge approved rezoning for Clark Pacific's proposed precast-concrete components plant on July 13. The 160-acre site is near South Highway 87 and East Hanna Road, and the company's representative gave a preliminary estimate of 100 to 150 jobs while saying it hoped to hire most workers locally.
