Spartan lists its 2026 Phoenix Trifecta Weekend at Phoenix Raceway, 7602 S. Avondale Blvd., on November 21 and 22. The schedule has 5K Sprint and kids races on both days, the 21K Beast on Saturday and the 10K Super on Sunday. The plans include an unnamed grocery anchor of about 99,000 square feet and roughly 118,000 square feet of industrial space. The proposal is working through the city’s approval process. A grocery tenant and opening date have not been confirmed in the reporting reviewed; the project should be treated as a development proposal.

The one-mile run/walk starts at 8 a.m., the 5K at 8:15 and the ceremony at 10. Proceeds support the college’s veterans scholarship fund. Registration currently lists the 5K at $40 plus a $3.40 signup fee and the mile at $25 plus $2.50; base prices rise after October 30 at 10:59 p.m. Arizona time. Check registration for current fees.

The City of Avondale's events calendar lists Barks & Treats on October 3, described by the city as a howl-o-ween pooch party where residents bring their furry friends for a barking good time. It is the first entry on Avondale's fall lineup after Mercados & Melodies on September 25, and it lands a few weeks ahead of Billy Moore Days, which runs October 22 to 25.

Blue Corn Cafe & Bakery has a grand-opening celebration scheduled for Nov. 5, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 10575 W. Indian School Road, Suite 115, in Avondale. The West Valley Regional Chamber lists the ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. The dated announcement supplies an address and celebration time that were missing from the bakery’s earlier fall-opening notice. Check with the cafe for regular service hours before making a separate trip.
