Glendale City Council approved annexation and rezoning for Project Eagle/Baccara on October 27, 2026. The roughly 160-acre site near Litchfield Road and Olive Avenue, close to Luke Air Force Base, is planned for three data center buildings, 18 natural gas turbines and an APS substation. KJZZ, ABC15 and FOX 10 report the approval following debate over water use, noise and air quality. Glendale says annexation gives it greater oversight of the development, including landscaping and fencing requirements. This is a land-use approval; a construction start has not been confirmed.

Maricopa Live Steamers offers free Halloween train rides October 23-24, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. at 22822 N. 43rd Avenue in Glendale. Donations are optional. Every visitor entering the park needs an individual liability waiver. Children must ride in their own seats rather than on an adult’s lap; check the operator’s boarding and safety requirements before visiting.

Gudeng Precision Industrial celebrated the opening of its first U.S. manufacturing facility on October 6, 2026, at 5260 W. Phelps Road in Glendale. The Arizona Commerce Authority says the 12,000-square-foot plant represents $5 million in investment and is expected to support more than 30 jobs making semiconductor and aerospace components. Its initial phase includes aircraft CNC machining and precision inspection. The job figure is a projection, not a count of positions already filled.
Westgate’s October 2026 calendar lists five upcoming concerts at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale: Sombr on October 14, Phil Wickham on October 17, Chayanne on October 18, Charli xcx on October 21 and Los Tigres del Norte on October 24. Check the arena’s event pages for tickets and the latest show times. Chayanne’s time differs between Westgate and a ticketing listing, so confirm it on your ticket before making plans.

Goodwill plans to open at 4238 W. Bell Road in Glendale on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, with doors opening by 8 a.m. The first 150 people in line when the store opens will receive a $5 Goodwill gift card, according to the operator. The opening celebration includes coffee and treats. Donors who bring a donation during October 22-25 receive a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $10 or more. Check the coupon for redemption details.

Glendale's Movies by Moonlight series is back, turning a different city park into an outdoor theater each month. The season opens Oct. 16 at Sahuaro Ranch Park, then moves to Rose Lane Park Nov. 13, Murphy Park Dec. 11, Foothills Park South Jan. 22, Paseo Sports Complex Feb. 19 and Glendale Heroes Regional Park March 12. The city says showtimes and titles are still to come.

Updated October 22, 2026: Ghosts & Goodies runs Friday, October 23, from 5 to 10 p.m. at WaterDance Plaza and Fountain Park, 6770 N. Sunrise Blvd., in Glendale. Admission is free. Trick-or-treating and the Funergy games and costume contests run 5 to 7 p.m.; Artisan Alley continues until 10 p.m. Corbin Maxey’s live animal show runs 7 to 7:45 p.m., followed by a meet-and-greet until 9 p.m. Free treat bags are limited to one per person while supplies last. This replaces the earlier 7:30 p.m. closing time and general Westgate address.

Glendale's Office of Arts & Culture debuts Masterpieces & Margaritas on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Park and the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheatre, 5812 W. Glendale Ave. The painting is free and guided by professional artists, then margaritas and beer are for purchase while live music plays in the amphitheater, per the Glendale Independent.
