Tomahawk Road during November 9 to 14, 2026, Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring proof of city residency. The city’s service page caps the free load at 500 pounds; heavier loads are charged in full. A hard hat and safety vest are required. The October 26 announcement says to bring your own or buy a set on-site for $17.

Apache Junction Public Library has two overlapping Halloween programs on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 1177 N. Idaho Road. Scary Story Night runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for ages 5 and up. Apache Junction will collect household hazardous waste on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon at 575 E. Baseline Ave.; vehicles must enter from Ironwood Drive. Eligible households are within city limits or the designated Pinal County area north and east of the city, including Gold Canyon; commercial properties are excluded. Accepted items include paint, batteries, electronics, passenger tires and documents for shredding. Bulk trash is not accepted. Apache Junction has rescheduled the Superstition Reading Garden ribbon cutting from Oct. 22 to Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. because of inclement weather. The celebration is at the public library, 1177 N. Idaho Road, with rock painting, giveaways, family activities and a beverage truck following the ceremony. The 20,000-square-foot outdoor garden includes a greenhouse, six raised beds, shaded tables and a 50-seat amphitheater.

Pumpkin Patch Plunge runs Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Superstition Shadows Aquatic Center, 1091 W.
