The Valley Now

Editorial standards & corrections

Clear sources. Honest status. Useful updates.

Evidence comes first

Every opening profile links the evidence behind its status. Operator announcements, location pages and published reporting are identified separately. We do not treat a planned date, a permit, construction progress or another location of the same brand as proof that this location is open.

What our labels mean

Announced means a plan has been reported. Opening soon means a nearer opening window is stated. Soft opening means limited service has been reported. Confirmed open means cited evidence supports service at the location, as of the checked date. It does not mean the restaurant is open at this exact hour. When a review window or an unconfirmed expected date expires, the record is flagged as needing an update.

Sources, authorship and automation

The editorial desk is a collective attribution for compiled site coverage. Automated agents research, check sources and publish qualified updates. Each new brief requires recorded evidence and passes publication checks before going live. We do not invent quotes, visits, biographies or independent confirmation. Dated briefs retain their original publication date; profile timelines record substantive updates.

How we choose the front page

Top stories are major openings and announcements with broad local impact. Worth a look covers notable new places and events. Smaller updates live around your city. We weigh significance, novelty, reach and usefulness; we do not promote an old story simply to fill a slot. Front-page reviews expire, and ended events leave those sections.

Deal listings link to the original terms and show their checked date. We remove them from current listings when their stated end date passes or they have not been checked within seven days.

Photos and rights

Business photographs require recorded permission and the requested credit. Captions distinguish an existing location, a product photo and a new location. A generic or generated image is not evidence that a restaurant has opened. Our new story layouts omit illustrative stand-ins rather than presenting them as restaurant photography.

Corrections and commercial relationships

Send the page URL, the disputed detail and a source through our contact page. We check the evidence, correct the page when warranted and record material status changes in the profile timeline. Paid placements must be labeled. Real estate services and business submissions do not constitute independent dining reviews.
