Pinal County’s Paw-sitive Hike in the Park runs Sunday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon at the CAP Florence Trailhead, 17408 Salazar St. Open Space & Trails and Animal Care and Control are teaming up to give shelter dogs a day on the trails with participants. Florence’s 3rd Fridays return Oct. 16 with a costume contest

Historic Downtown Florence hosts 3rd Fridays on Main Street from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, with free admission and a Halloween costume contest. Four blocks close to traffic while shops stay open late for music, food and family activities. The series runs October through April; children’s activities vary by month. 4,695 acres near Florence approved for a new employment hub

Pinal County supervisors unanimously approved just over 4,695 acres of state land about 10 miles northeast of Florence for industrial uses on Wednesday, PinalCentral reports. The rezoning is aimed at creating an employment hub on State Route 79 south of Florence Junction.

Megan Moroney is Country Thunder Arizona's first 2027 headliner

Megan Moroney will headline the final night, Sunday, April 11, of Country Thunder Arizona 2027, running April 8 to 11 at AZ Talio Ranch east of Florence, PinalCentral reports. She is the first headliner announced for the four-day festival. Tickets and festival details are at countrythunder.com/az.
