A $145 million project is bringing Whole Foods and Dick's House of Sport to Gilbert

Signature at SanTan Village breaks ground now on the northwest quadrant of SanTan Village Parkway and Williams Field Road. Phase I includes a 43,000 sq ft Whole Foods and a 119,397 sq ft Dick's House of Sport with a climbing wall, golf simulator bays and multi-sport cages.

Peoria's free Saturday night market is back through September

Desert West Night Market returns to Peoria Sports Complex every Saturday in August and September, 6-9pm. The open-air event features 120+ vendors, food trucks, a DJ, a full bar and splash pad activities. Free to enter, free to park.

A new 16-acre retail hub is coming to Surprise's Prasada community

Developer Diversified Partners is bringing roughly 120,000 sq ft of pad sites, shop space and build-to-suit options to the northeast corner of Cactus Road and Cotton Lane. A convenience store with fuel, drive-thru restaurant brands and a veterinary clinic are already confirmed tenants.

Panera and Starbucks just broke ground at Buckeye Commons

Buckeye Commons keeps growing past its original Costco anchor. A groundbreaking was just held for new Panera and Starbucks locations, joining a lineup that already includes Home Depot's first Buckeye store, Dick's Sporting Goods, Five Below and Barnes & Noble.

Floor & Decor's new Chandler warehouse store opens Aug. 20

Ghost Donkey, Palma and Blue Sushi are coming to Gilbert's Heritage Park

Three concepts from Flagship Restaurant Group are headed to the 10-acre Heritage Park development: Ghost Donkey, the NYC Mexican bar known for loaded nachos and churros; Palma, a happy-hour-forward eatery with brunch and sushi; and Blue Sushi Sake Grill, their 3rd Arizona location. First openings land in 2026, full build-out by March 2027.

Peoria's 1906 schoolhouse is becoming an arts and culture hub

Central School, a Mission Revival schoolhouse on the National Register of Historic Places, is being restored into a full arts and culture center at 83rd Avenue and Madison Street, with exhibit, performance and classroom space plus a new restroom/office annex. Construction started this spring and is expected to wrap by the end of October.

The 2026 U.S. Gymnastics Championships land in Phoenix Aug. 6-9
