Buckeye is planning a new library and community center in the Festival area of north Buckeye and is asking residents to shape it. A community open house runs Thursday, Sept. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Festival Foothills Elementary, 26252 W. Desert Vista Blvd., where you can drop in, see preliminary concepts and talk with city staff. The online survey at surveymonkey.com/r/buckeyelibrary stays open through Friday, Sept. 25, and the city says results feed directly into planning, design and programming.

See’s Candies lists its Buckeye shop at 1585 N. Verrado Way, Suite 101, with hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. This October 25 update replaces our earlier opening-celebration forecast and the shopping center’s general address with the shop’s own listing. The operator’s broader Buckeye directory still says “Coming soon,” so confirm hours with the shop at 480-210-9856 before traveling. We have not established the exact first day of service.
