Cowboys at Cardinals kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday at State Farm Stadium, per the Westgate Entertainment District calendar. The night before, Artisan Alley returns to Fountain Park from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free. Free trivia runs Wednesday night at Dave & Buster's.

Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40 and Too Short share the bill at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on Aug. 28. It is a big two weeks in the neighborhood: the Cardinals host the Cowboys in preseason at State Farm Stadium on Aug. 22, and KAROL G plays the stadium Aug. 29.
The Baked Bear is listed as coming soon in the Westgate Entertainment District directory. The chain builds ice cream sandwiches to order, letting customers pick their cookies and their scoop. No opening date has been posted yet.
Glendale's back half of August is stacked. Mount Westmore, the group of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40 and Too Short, hits Desert Diamond Arena Aug. 28 at 8 p.m. KAROL G follows at State Farm Stadium Aug. 29 at 7 p.m., and the Cowboys are at State Farm Aug. 22.

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow-N-Fire runs August 8 and 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Desert Diamond Arena, and Wheels & Shields is at the Westgate Entertainment District on August 8. Cowboys vs. Cardinals follows August 22 at 7 p.m. at State Farm Stadium.

Whole Foods Market and 99 Ranch Market are both headed to the Arrowhead area, each the first of its kind in the region. Also in the works: a Moxy Hotel under construction and Big Air, the first trampoline and entertainment park in the West Valley. No opening dates have been announced.

Cornish Pasty Co. is opening in Glendale, its first location in the West Valley. It joins a run of new arrivals the city's economic development office is tracking downtown and along the West Valley's major corridors. No opening date has been announced.

Three free festivals are lined up in Catlin Court and the Old Towne districts. Teddy Bear Day is Saturday, September 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with bear-themed activities, chocolate decorating, emergency vehicle displays and a charity drive for the Trauma Teddy Program. A Family Fun Festival runs 6 to 10 p.m. in September with live music, food trucks, art vendors and a vintage car show. The Front Porch Festival follows on October 10. Before all that, Summerween is Saturday, August 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Westgate Entertainment District's Artisan Alley outdoor market runs Friday, August 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., bringing out homegrown makers, creators, artists and independent small businesses. Westgate's August calendar also has free trivia at Dave & Buster's every Wednesday at 7 p.m., free Sunday brunch bingo at Chicken N Pickle from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a back-to-school drive running through August 14.

Arizona Toy Con is back at the Glendale Civic Center on Saturday, August 15, running 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with VIP entrance at 9 a.m., according to organizer Arizona Toy Shows. The collector show fills the hall with vintage and modern toys, action figures, comics, die-cast, cards and collectibles. Check the organizer's site for current ticket details before you go.

Visit Downtown Glendale lists the Sunday Brunch Art Crawl on the last Sunday of every month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Historic Downtown Glendale, which puts the next one on Aug. 30.
