163 acres of retail and an auto row are rising at Signal Butte

KTAR reports Diversified Partners is developing Destination at Gateway, 163 acres at the State Route 24 interchange at Signal Butte Road in southeast Mesa. The plan pairs a Walmart-anchored power center with 24 Auto Row, about 80 acres split into eight parcels. Named tenants so far include 7 Brew, Taco Bell, Take 5 Oil Change, Zara Nail Bar and PAC Dental. Site work west of Signal Butte was expected to wrap in the third quarter of 2026.

A 239,700 sq ft commerce park is planned at Five North

KTAR reports Barclay Group is building Vistancia Commerce Park, 239,700 square feet across four buildings ranging from 9,400 to 54,000 square feet, at the southeast corner of Westward Skies Drive and Desert Cactus Lane in Peoria's Five North at Vistancia near Loop 303. The October 2025 announcement put construction start at mid-2026 and completion at mid-2027.

The Heard's Molly of Denali experience ends Sunday

Molly of Denali: An Alaskan Adventure closes Aug. 30 at the Heard Museum. The hands-on experience is set in the fictional Alaskan village of Qyah and lets kids fly a replica bush plane, drive a snow machine and go ice fishing while exploring Alaska Native culture at interactive stations called the Trading Post and Tribal Hall. The Heard lists it as included with museum admission, with add-on fees only on select special event dates.

A 62,000 sq ft brewery project is planned on Muniz Street

The Queen Creek Tribune reports The Perch, a 62,000-square-foot project on Muniz Street, will include a brewery plus retail and restaurant space and is expected to open by the end of 2026. It is one piece of roughly $200 million in private investment reshaping the downtown core, alongside the Switchyard, a 20,000-square-foot office project at Ellsworth Loop and Ocotillo, and an 8,500-square-foot plaza in the former Magma Engineering building.

A 35,000 sq ft Whole Foods is coming to Indian School Road

Patch reports a new Whole Foods is targeting a fall 2026 opening at 7628 E. Indian School Road near Old Town Scottsdale, in a 35,222-square-foot building. Whole Foods has not announced an exact grand-opening date.

Kohl's, Nordstrom Rack and Boot Barn are on Prasada's list

Village at Prasada's own coming-soon list names Kohl's, Nordstrom Rack, Sierra Trading Post and Boot Barn, plus a dual-brand Marriott TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn. The center lists Lou Malnati's, First Watch, Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, Barrio Queen, Cooper's Hawk and O.H.S.O. Brewery as already open. No opening dates are posted for the retailers still to come.

Walmart buys about 80 acres across two Buckeye sites

InBuckeye reports Walmart picked up roughly 80 acres in Buckeye across two sites about five miles apart, about 39 acres near State Route 85 and Southern Avenue and about 40 acres near the southeast corner of Apache and Maricopa roads, for $21.4 million combined. Walmart has not announced what it plans to develop on the land.

Chandler's 27th Mariachi and Folklorico Festival lands Nov. 1
