Someburros has signed for 42618 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, at the northwest corner of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and Stonegate Road, in the Stonegate retail center. The Arizona family chain announced it alongside new Surprise and Peoria locations. No opening date has been announced for the Maricopa restaurant.

SanTanValley.com's What's Building list gives EOS Fitness an estimated opening of Sept. 21 at Skyline Ranch Marketplace, on the northeast corner of Hunt Highway and Gary Road. The same center has PetSmart opening late 2026, with Michaels and In-N-Out both listed as under construction. Marshalls and HomeGoods opened there Aug. 27.

Also on the list: Tasteful Tailgates, a seafood, steak and sports bar concept with more than 250 seats inside and 50 on the patio, at The ZON. No exact opening dates have been posted for either.

The Surprise Community Resource Center holds its ribbon cutting Sept. 3 at 10 a.m., followed by an open house at 11 a.m., at 12641 W. Santa Fe Dr. in the Original Town Site at Hollyhock Street. The 35,000-square-foot building unites what were once separate homes for the city's senior center, resource center and Hollyhock Library, and adds health and wellness programs, Head Start classrooms, workforce development, housing assistance, veteran services and after-school youth programs. It serves the whole Northwest Valley.

ERMCO is building a 566,121-square-foot distribution transformer plant, including 4,070 square feet of office, at 15784 West Hatcher Road in Waddell. The investment will create more than 500 jobs in engineering, skilled trades and operational support. The facility is expected to be operational in 2027, with foundational work beginning in 2026. It is the first time ERMCO has expanded manufacturing west of the Mississippi River.

KTAR reports Buckeye Commons West has signed lease deals with In-N-Out Burger, Raising Cane's, Oregano's, Valvoline and Super Star Car Wash. The center sits near Interstate 10 and Verrado Way, directly across from Buckeye Commons. All of them are expected to open at Buckeye Commons West in 2026. No individual opening dates have been announced.

The second annual Copper Country Music Fest is set for Oct. 17 at the Casa Grande Rodeo Grounds, 400 W. Rodeo Road. The festival bills rising country artists, food and a full day of it. The lineup and tickets are posted on the festival's own site.
The Cave Creek / Carefree Independent introduces the team at Creekers, which it calls the town's newest restaurant and dive: general manager Robbie Boccelli, front of house manager Caris Kuhn and chef Ryan Leander. The kitchen's pitch is familiar food made with care.

It is two buildings, 37,289 and 87,969 square feet, on 8.8 acres in west Chandler's industrial submarket. Opus was developer, design-builder and architect of record. LODGING reports NCG Hospitality broke ground on Moxy Glendale, a five-story, 153-room hotel that joins the company's existing three-property Glendale campus. It is slated to open in summer 2027. The design takes cues from the Sonoran Desert and saguaro blossoms, with private cabana suites and a resort-style pool with a walk-up bar.

The Superstition Mountain Lost Dutchman Museum says it is closed throughout August and reopening Sept. 1. The 15-acre site sits under the Superstitions on the Apache Trail and includes the Apacheland Barn and Elvis Chapel, the last surviving structures from the Apacheland Movie Ranch, a working 20-stamp gold mill, a model railroad and a labeled nature trail.

ABC15 reports GSQ in downtown Goodyear has announced an 8,460-square-foot Fogo de Chao at the southwest corner of Goodyear Way and Bullard Avenue, and a 3,800-square-foot First Watch with a patio, bar and local mural at Bullard and McDowell. California Fish Grill, CAVA, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar and a Veterinary Emergency Group hospital are also listed for 2026, with a 25,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack set for spring 2027.

Phoenix New Times reports the Arizona Chile Festival returns for its sixth year on Sept. 4 at 4025 E. Chandler Blvd. in Ahwatukee. It is free to attend. Expect freshly roasted green chiles for sale, live music, chile tastings and contests including a tortilla toss, plus food trucks and local vendors. Pre-ordering is open for bags of chiles, roasted chiles and hot sauces.

KTAR reports a 3.84-acre retail center anchored by a Terrible's convenience store and gas station is planned for the southeast corner of Bella Vista Road and Gantzel Road, with space for more restaurants and retailers.
