Verrado Marketplace is getting a Harkins BackLot

Harkins is bringing its first BackLot concept in Arizona to Verrado Marketplace. The 75,000 square foot complex is planned to hold a luxury theater, a restaurant and bar, sports viewing, an arcade, bowling and event spaces. No opening date has been announced yet.

BoSa is opening a fourth Chandler shop on Price Road

The donut chain that started in Chandler in 1994 is adding a location at 1245 S. Price Road, Suite 2. Owner Jackson Chao is targeting February 2027. It joins BoSa's existing Chandler shops at Dobson and Elliot, Arizona and Galveston, and Arizona and Ocotillo.

KAROL G plays State Farm Stadium on Aug. 29

Glendale's back half of August is stacked. Mount Westmore, the group of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40 and Too Short, hits Desert Diamond Arena Aug. 28 at 8 p.m. KAROL G follows at State Farm Stadium Aug. 29 at 7 p.m., and the Cowboys are at State Farm Aug. 22.

A 205,000 sq ft garage club is planned for north Scottsdale

Toy Barn is planning its largest Arizona location at Mack Innovation Park near Loop 101 and Bell Road. The plan calls for 135 individually owned garage suites across six buildings, a clubhouse and a rooftop patio facing the McDowells. Phase 1 construction is slated to begin spring 2027.

Buckeye is targeting aerospace, energy tech, biotech and EV manufacturing as its next growth phase. Grand View Arizona is a 2,500-acre industrial campus built for large-scale projects, and developers project more than $1 billion in economic impact.

A free star party hits the Riparian Preserve Aug. 14

The Public Star Party runs Friday, Aug. 14 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch, 2757 E. Guadalupe Road, and it is free. The Agritopia Farm Tour is Aug. 11 at 9 a.m., and Hale Theatre's Woodstock tribute runs Aug. 14 through Aug. 29.

P83 is getting a 194-unit apartment building this fall

Revolve at P83 is a five-story, 194-unit building on about 3.34 acres in the P83 Entertainment District, targeting occupancy in September. It carries a resort-style pool, a 24-hour fitness center and two rooftop community spaces, at a stated cost of $72.66 million.

There's a restaurant inside a 1922 Old Town house

Ponderosa House opened in May at 4121 N. Marshall Way from Jacob Finley, the restaurateur behind Karsen's Grill. A casual cantina bar sits up front and an upscale dining room fills a renovated 1922 home with original wood floors and a red brick fireplace.

The Gilmore's Safeway is open at Val Vista and Germann

A roughly 64,000-square-foot Safeway opened Aug. 6 at the northwest corner of Val Vista Drive and Germann Road, anchoring The Gilmore. The 35-acre project will hold about 200,000 square feet of retail, dining and grocery plus 300 apartments now pre-leasing.

Arizona's first butter shop now has an address in Mesa

Arizona Churn Culture is opening at 1235 S. Gilbert Road, Suite 12, in late August or early September. Founders Bill and Melissa Prystash will sell grass-fed handcrafted butter in glass jars and host butter-making classes and private tastings.
