Tempe wants small businesses in its oldest Mill Ave buildings

The city bought the 1912 Tempe National Bank building at 526 S. Mill Ave. and closed on the 1898 Tempe Hardware building at 520 S. Mill Ave. A plan to lease both to local small businesses goes to a final council vote Sept. 10. Consignment shop Tempe Toes already operates in the hardware building.
