Chef James Fox's Vecina opens its second location Friday, Sept. 18 in McCormick Ranch, a room Arizona Foothills Magazine describes as over three times the size of the original Arcadia restaurant, with private dining areas, a mezzanine, a custom mural by Tato Caraveo and an open patio with lake views. Menu carryovers include the karaage and the Faroe Island salmon tacos with yuzu kosho aioli, joined by a mesquite-grilled prime carne asada ribeye and gambas al ajillo. Fox said the original's size "has always created some limitations," and the new location gives the team a chance to expand. Hours were not listed, so check before you go.
