Peoria's 5,300-acre Saddleback opened its first model homes

Saddleback, a 5,300-acre master-planned community under development in Peoria by Austin-based Castle Hill Partners, opened the first model homes in its inaugural village, Saltbrush. At full buildout it is entitled for about 6,500 single-family homes, multifamily housing, resort-style amenities, a resort and up to 2 million square feet of commercial space. The plan is built around outdoor recreation and desert preservation, with more than 60 miles of trails.

Cactus League 2026 drew 1.75 million fans and its biggest impact yet

The 2026 Cactus League season drew 1,753,849 visitors across 237 games and added $495.8 million to Arizona's GDP, the highest figures since measurement began more than 20 years ago, according to an ASU Seidman Research Institute study reported by AZ Big Media. Peoria's Pumpkin Patch fills up on Thunderbird Road Oct. 13 to 31

Peoria's Pumpkin Patch at 7717 W. Thunderbird Road runs Oct. 13 to 31, according to Raising Arizona Kids' 2026 pumpkin patch guide. The Peoria Church of the Nazarene fills the patch with pumpkins through the second half of October, along with fall events.

Jefferson House, a courtyard food hall with splash pad, eyes November

Jefferson House at 83rd Avenue and Jefferson Street in Downtown Peoria's Arts District is targeting a November 2026 opening. Plans include three chef-run kitchens, six retail and eatery spots, a courtyard bar, a live music stage, a 16-foot splash pad and seating for 300-plus under a covered canopy.
