Amkor adds a $5 billion second phase to its Peoria campus

Amkor Technology announced a second phase of its semiconductor packaging and test campus at Peoria's Innovation Core, adding nearly 650,000 square feet and lifting the total investment to $12 billion, the Peoria Independent reported Sept. 9. The company says the expansion is driven by strong customer commitments and will bring the site to roughly 1 million square feet of cleanroom space. Phase 1 was a $7 billion project, and Amkor has a $1.5 billion multiyear agreement with Nvidia.
